Our mission is to protect, prepare, and educate our communities on public health issues by planning, sharing resources, and creating mutual agreements with other private, state, and local health agencies.
GIS
GIS (Geographical Information Systems) is key to faster data analysis of everything from Epidemiology investigations to Septic tank placement. By using it in conjunction with other resources available to us we are able to enhance our own awarness, and share information easily, therefore making us more effective as a collective unit.
Threat Preparedness planning incorporates IT, SNS, Volunteer Recruting, Training and Education, Risk Communication, and Epidemiology. By planning for various scenarios we are prepared to respond to public health emergencies. This could be anything from responding to a flood or providing mass immunizations.
Epidemiology studies the incindence and causes of communicable diseases with the County. Its goal is to prevent outbreaks of diseases.
Risk communication provides timely and accurate information on various diseases and public health threats.
Training of employees and volunteers is important to ensuring a properly trained response team. This is accomplished by providing specific training for specific individuals.
Volunteer development and coordination is vital to the functioning of all local health agencies during times of need. Volunteers ensure that the mission of the health department is carried out. Each county has a need for volunteers. Please click here, follow the link to your local health department, and volunteer today!
SNS (Strategic National Stockpile) planning is responsible for the development and implementation of a plan to destribute medical supplies and medications during a public health emergency.
IT planning is responsible for planning and documentation of proceedures in emergency and non-emergency situations. This includes how resources are shared and implemented, technical consultation and support for members of the Region 2 Bundle Team. We develop relationships and agreements with public and private agencies to ensure that during emergencies we are able to effectively meet the IT requirements of the mission.
